Here's an update on our work to tackle local priorities from April to June 2026:
Road safety and road traffic offences
• Officers from the Daventry neighbourhood policing team stopped a man riding an electric bike in Daventry town centre. The bike was not road legal, and was capable of reaching speeds of over 25mph. He was reported for summons for relevant traffic offences.
• A SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) vehicle parked on a public road was recovered in Chapel Brampton.
• Speed enforcement operations have been conducted across the Brixworth area of Daventry, with a number of warnings and fixed penalty notices being issued.
• Sponsored PCSOs for Crick and DIRFT have recovered vehicles for no tax and issued road safety advice to motorists.
Drug dealing and drug misuse
• We have continued to develop intelligence around drug dealing locations across the area covered by the Daventry neighbourhood policing team.
• A Misuse of Drugs Act Warrant was executed at a caravan on Golding Close in Daventry. A man was arrested and subsequently charged with a drug possession offence.
• Multiple stop and searches across the area have resulted in cannabis being seized from individuals. Outcomes have ranges from referrals to the Immediate Justice Scheme through to charges and summons to court.
Rural Crime
• The Rural Crime Team continues to work across borders with Warwickshire Police, and has recovered a large amount of stolen plant machinery.
• A prolific livestock worrying offender responsible for numerous incidents in the Daventry area was dealt with by the courts and issued a substantial fine and costs.
• A Community Resolution has been issued for a public order offence at the Pytchley Hunt.
