Road Safety and Traffic Offences

With the issue raised in a number of parishes officers have changed shifts and provided a high visibility
deterrent in a number of areas used for unauthorised vehicle meetings and street race gatherings enforcing
if offences are found.
• Deployed with our handheld speed monitoring device in various locations around the area including Crick,
DIRFT, Brixworth, Moulton, Overstone, Daventry, Norton, Long Buckby, Weedon
• Conducted numerous proactive vehicle stops resulting in the recovery of a vehicle being driven on the A5
without the correct driving license or insurance, four arrests for driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs
and further four vehicle recoveries for various driving or insurance offences.
• Issued 5 section 59 Anti-social behaviour warning notices to riders of vehicles being used off road causing a
nuisance.

Burglary
Issued 01 April 2024
Attended every report of a home invasion or burglary dwelling reported to police in person with forensic
investigators to obtain best evidence.
• Assisted the force burglary team with a vehicle stop on the A5 resulting in the arrest of three persons
responsible for burglaries on the area recovering stolen property and the car involved.
• Completed house to house and CCTV enquries for all reported burglaries on the area
• Completed crime prevention visits and referrals to the crime prevention team when identifying vulnerable
households
• Utilised our community messaging service Northamptonshire Talking to increase awareness of offences
taking place and request witness information

Vehicle Crime
Issued 01 April 2024
• Recovered a stolen motor vehicle in Daventry Town centre having identified it’s use of cloned registration
plates
• Completed House to House and CCTV enquires following reports of theft offences from motor vehicles in
Moulton and Overstone.
• Provided high visibility presence in areas identified as being targetted by criminals for theft of motor
vehicle offences including car parks and laybys used overnight
• Arrested a nominal identified as responsible for theft from motor vehicle offences in Daventry Town
