Northamptonshire is unique. If you’re looking to develop your career and uncover new challenges, then Northamptonshire Police is the place to be. We are a diverse organisation both internally and geographically.
Here, you will find breath-taking countryside and the usual rural crime which it brings, contrasted with vibrant urban towns dealing with metropolitan issues.
As a county force that prides itself in being family friendly and holding wellbeing high on the agenda, you can benefit from the luxuries of affordable housing and a challenging career. The county is well situated for commuting easily and conveniently with direct rail links to London and Birmingham. It also sits snugly surrounded by Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire, Thames Valley and Warwickshire.
We offer an exciting range of career paths and specialisms, with great promotion opportunities. Should you take the decision to join our ranks, we will work with you to understand your skill-set and what best meets your needs and ours, including negotiating a suitable start date.
Not only are we at the cutting-edge of developing our technology, but we’re also trailblazing our joint working with Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue and the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office.
Don’t just take our word for it. See it with your own eyes. Join us now to see how we can help you develop your career in a dynamic force.
Police and Detective constables - We are looking for constables or detective constables who have passed their probationary period. Including those officers who are working towards their Initial Crime Investigation Development Programme (ICIDP) or National Investigators Exam (NIE), to join us in fighting crime and protecting people.
Police and Detective Sergeants - We’re looking for trained officers from other Home Office forces who have completed their work based assessment (WBA) and are substantive in rank, with outstanding communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality policing.
In order to transfer into Northamptonshire Police you must have completed a probationary period as a student officer in a Home Office Police Force in England & Wales.
Where you have been a constable in a non-home office force and have followed an equivalent programme of training this will be assessed as part of the recruitment process. If this cannot be demonstrated you would join Northamptonshire Police as a new student officer on a 2 year probationary period.
Your Pay Scale will be in line with your continuous service.
