We know that the decision to transfer to Northamptonshire Police can be about more than what we can offer you as a force. You need to know what Northamptonshire as a county can offer you and your family should you decide to join us here.
Situated at the heart of the county, Northamptonshire has so much to offer. From miles of countryside, historical landmarks, and cultural activities to family days out, and state-of-the-art leisure facilities - Northamptonshire has it all.
Excellent transport links mean you can easily hop on the M1, M6 or M40 and be in London, Birmingham, Oxford or Cambridge within the hour for a family day out, and commuting is easy and convenient with direct rail links to London and Birmingham.
For sports fans, the county is home to a Premiership rugby team, Northampton Saints, a county cricket club offering test matches and T20, and a League One football team, Northampton Town FC. And motorsport fans will know that Northamptonshire is the home of British motor racing, with Silverstone Circuit annually hosting the British Grand Prix.
The county has a wide variety of state and private schools, of which many have breakfast and after school clubs. You can find out more about schools and education in Northamptonshire using the links below:
Northamptonshire is also home to the University of Northampton. In 2018, the UoN opened its brand new, £330m, Waterside Campus, encompassing student accommodation and state-of-the-art teaching facilities.
