This route into policing is known as the Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP). It is a two-year training programme and there is no degree requirement.
You will start on a highly competitive salary, which from September 1, 2024 will start at £29,907 and can rise to £48,231 after seven years' service.
Your training includes learning from our experienced colleagues, including a blend of practical on-the-job experience and classroom-based learning.
After approximately 31 weeks you will reach independent patrol status and then you will be patrolling without a tutor for the remainder of the two-year programme.
You will be pushed to become the best and rewarded with the satisfaction that you are helping people at their lowest point and seeking to get them justice.
Working as part of a wider team – known as the police family – you will receive some of the best police training in the world.
Our recruitment window for applications to the Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) is now closed.
