As we mark the upcoming Volunteers’ Celebration Week (VCW), we proudly acknowledge and celebrate the unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions of our volunteers, who's work supports and strengthens our communities.
Launched in 1984, the UK-wide VCW initiative has been honoured for over 40 years, providing our organisation and community a platform to thank current and past volunteers for their dedicated efforts. Volunteering is an essential component of our society, and the unity of the CIP team in enhancing our policing efforts is inspiring.
This year, celebrations are running from Monday, June 2, until Sunday, June 8. In recognition, each day of this week will showcase the varied work of the different teams and volunteers that are involved. We’ll be sharing their stories and the contributions that they make to our organisation, with you here and across our social media channels.
Citizens in Policing manager, Julie Mead, said: “This week we are shining the spotlight on the incredible dedication of our Special constables, Emergency service cadets and volunteers. That’s why, on national volunteers’ week, we are turning the spotlight on them!
Expect stories, celebrations and shoutouts, as we highlight the difference they make every day.
Whether they are in a uniform, a high-vis jacket, or simply a smile, we want to thank them for being a part of the Northamptonshire Police family. Let’s make this week one to remember!”
