The Surveillance Intervention Team (SIT) is a proactive enforcement team that has a dual purpose role and works alongside the surveillance team. They provide appropriate support when required to assist with arresting individuals, stopping vehicles, and conducting searches of premises. They also have a wider function across the force in supporting with arrests, search warrants, house searches for those in custody, and proactive enforcement in regards to the Matters of Priority. This team are highly trained and have specialist skills in relation to driving, searching and entry into buildings.

This is a dedicated, covert surveillance team working on Level 1/Level 2 crimes that impact the communities of Northamptonshire. They focus on the forces Matters of Priority, including Drug Harm (County Lines), Serious and Organised Crime such as robbery, modern slavery and human trafficking, VAWG (serious sexual offending/MAPPA offenders) and other serious violent offenders. The team work across the force dealing with those issues that pose the greatest risk of harm to the public. This is a vital function in preventing offences and protecting victims from harm by the most serious offenders.
