My name is Clare Chambers and I'm the Chief Digital Officer. My team work together to provide all the digital and technology services across three organisations of Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue, and the Commissioners Office.
As well as traditional IT services such as desktop support, network support, applications, we also run projects that increase the digital capability in all of those organisations.
We've got many roles available and they range from project managers to IT support roles, procurement analysts and business systems analysts to solution design architects.
We have a range of roles requiring different skills. Some are technical roles but we also have roles that require people with transferable skills.
We've got a great department of people and now we're expanding and we'd love you to come and work with us. We're looking for innovative, forward-thinking individuals who want to make a difference in the way that digital services are delivered for two thirds of the blue light services in Northamptonshire.
The Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) department are at the centre of all technological solutions and infrastructure that supports the force in the efficient policing of our communities.
Our DDaT team are in a unique position, serving both the police and fire services, as well as the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC), and, as such, team members are able to gain knowledge and experience across the three organisations.
Split into multiple teams, DDaT work across a broad spectrum of technological solutions, from traditional IT services, such as desktop support, to running projects that increase the digital capability of all three organisations. These roles require individuals who are adept at harnessing ways to rethink and redevelop better ways to protect the public, from creating apps that draw intelligence from multiple systems into one central location, to working on projects that support at the British Grand Prix.
DDaT is more than just computers.
This team support the three organisations by understanding performance risk, business processes and ways to improve. They are responsible for all statutory reporting to the government, HMICFRS and the OPFCC, and make evidence-based decisions using a range of statistical and business analytical skills.

Responsible for collating and monitoring all IT related efficiencies, the Digital Business team manage all digital contracts and orders for the force. This team features non-technical roles that deal with commercial elements like contract management, budget monitoring and dealing with new suppliers.

The role of the Enterprise Architecture team is to understand the needs of all three organisations and translate this into a technology roadmap. They ensure that each departments digital priorities are focused on delivering the corporate objectives, and look to reduce the number of systems we run by leveraging the infrastructure we already have.
A few of the roles available in this team are:
Front line for IT infrastructure across all three organisations, Technical Support are your traditional IT team. From infrastructure support to the service desk, this team ensure that the 3500 computers and phones across the three organisations are updated, patched, and running smoothly to allow users access 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Transformation and Change team are responsible for delivering the right change at the right time providing best value, efficiently and effectively, enabling benefit to be realised in the organisations they support and for the people of Northamptonshire.
They have responsibility for all change across Police, Fire and OPFCC. This includes the design, delivery and programmatic control of new digital and organisational change as well as ensuring continuous improvement of key products following initial implementation.
