Neighbourhood policing is about community, and working with and for local people to make your neighbourhood a safer place. There are lots of ways local people can get involved and support their neighbourhood policing team and their local community.
One way is to tell us about any concerns you have about crime or anti-social behaviour issues in your area. You can do this by completing our ongoing local priorities survey.
Priorities are set twice a year based the survey findings, local crime statistics and information from partner agencies such as the council. Your local officers will aim to share feedback about the work they have been doing to deal with the identified priorities.
Becoming a Special Constable or a police support volunteer is an excellent way to become involved with different aspects of policing and gain experience of Northamptonshire Police, whether you simply want to help your community or are interested in pursuing a career within the police service.
By volunteering with us you could play a vital role in helping us deliver and improve the service we provide to communities across Northamptonshire. Visit our Citizens in Policing page to find out more.
We work closely with Neighbourhood Watch and also run Community Speed Watch and Street Watch schemes across the county. If you are interested in getting involved in a watch scheme or other local initiative, such as a community week of action, please contact your local neighbourhood team to find out if there are any schemes in your area.
If you have any information about crime or anti-social behaviour in your area that you think we should know about, please get in touch. The intelligence we gather from the local community is really important in helping to tackle crime. If you see or hear any suspicious activity, or have any information about those involved in criminal activity, please get in touch.
You can report online or fill out the Contact Us form accessible from the Your Area section of our website – simply add you postcode to find your local team.
If you see a crime in progress or someone is at risk of immediate harm, please call 999.
You can also sign up to our community messaging service Northamptonshire Talking, where you can get updates from your local officers and reply to messages to give feedback or ask a question.
