Neighbourhood policing officers in Wellingborough have been responding to community concerns by seizing nuisance off-road motorcycles.
In recent months, the team has been speaking to residents who have shared reports of a number of off-road motorcycles, often Sur-Ron bikes, being ridden in an anti-social manner across the town.
The team is passionate about tackling the issues their local communities care about and continue to seize the bikes as a result.
One of these seizures happened last Wednesday (January 28) when PC Ben Morris saw a Sur-Ron bike being ridden down Kingsway at about 4.30pm and taken into an address.
He gained entry into the property and seized the vehicle.
A day later (January 29), PC Russell Barnes and PC Josh Unsworth were taking part in a Beat Bus surgery just after midday in the Brooke Close area when the rider of a Sur-Ron bike rode right past them. The bike was subsequently seized.
PC Morris and PC Barnes said: “Good neighbourhood policing is all about listening to the worries and concerns of the residents who live on our patch and responding to them.
“A number of people have raised issues with these off-road bikes and we are determined to respond to these concerns and do everything we can to tackle the issue.
“We hope these seizures demonstrate that commitment and we will continue working hard to take more of these nuisance bikes off our streets in Wellingborough.”
