Calling all young people as cadet recruitment opens

The Cadet recruitment window is now open for their September 2025 intake and young people across the county are being encouraged to do something amazing with their time and join up to the Northamptonshire Emergency Service Cadets (NESC).

In this film we hear more about the scheme from some of our Cadets and Cadet leaders.

Nick Paul, Citizens in Policing Sergeant said: ‘‘It's a privilege to be associated with such a great team of young people. The cadets play an integral part in supporting the our communities and helping with local neighbourhood priorities.’’

Those successful in joining the cadet scheme:

• Receive training in all elements of emergency services.
• Learn transferable skills such as excellent communication tools and broaden your knowledge of public services.
• Make positive contributions towards public safety.
• Meet new and interesting people and develop new friendships.
• Open up opportunities for future careers in any of the three services

There are currently six cadet units running in Northamptonshire who meet once a week.
