Northamptonshire Police recently joined a national operation to tackle those involved in the production and supply of cannabis.
The operation saw eight properties searched, five people arrested and more than 400 cannabis plants recovered between the end of February and early March.
Of the five people arrested, one was charged and remanded to court for cannabis cultivation offences, another was taken into custody by Immigration officials for deportation and three were released without charge.
Detective Chief Inspector Nick Cobley, from proactive crime and intelligence, said: “This is the third time we’ve supported this national operation during which we discovered a number of cannabis grows.
“We are committed to tackling those responsible for the production and distribution of illegal drugs and will continue to work locally, regionally and nationally to help disrupt those responsible for this criminal activity which has a ripple effect on the lives of many.”
If you’ve seen anyone acting suspiciously or have information about those you believe are involved in the production and supply of drugs, let us know.
