With #StormBert still in full swing, we’re getting a lot of weather-related calls, including to flooding both on the roads and in private homes.
We’re only able to attend incidents where life is at risk – please only call 999 where this is the case.
With the storm forecast to continue overnight, please only travel if you really have to – the best place to be is safe and dry indoors.
If you do have to travel, make sure you drive according to the conditions – slow down and leave larger gaps between you and the vehicle in front and avoid driving through standing water – even a small amount is enough to wreck your engine.
If you’re using public transport, check ahead before you set off to make sure services are still running.
For those in and around #Corby, the #A43 Corby bypass from the Uppingham Road roundabout to the Stanion roundabout is currently closed northbound (5.30pm).
We’re also aware of flooding on the #A361 Banbury Road in Charwelton, and in Church Street in Weedon, which is closed to traffic to try and avoid floodwater entering nearby homes.
Please find alternate routes if you have to travel in these areas.
