The Cadet recruitment window is now open for their September 2024 intake and young people across the county are being encouraged to do something amazing with their time and join up to the Northamptonshire Emergency Service Cadets (NESC).
In this film we hear more about the scheme from some of our Cadets and Cadet leaders.
If you are aged between 13-18 and are interested in learning more about the scheme you can find out more information and details on how you can apply below.
Citizens in Policing Manager and Cadet Lead Ann-Marie Lawson said: ‘‘Our cadets represent three of the emergency services: Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service. These young people have been selected because of their desire and passion to support their local communities. In doing so they will gain a practical understanding of the emergency services, developing their interpersonal and leadership skills by following an Emergency Service based curriculum and undertaking social action activities within their communities.’’
She added; ‘‘They are such an integral part of their communities and add so much value to the organisations they represent. We currently have 280 cadets working across the county, each year we invite applications to fill 150 new slots that open up as our current cadets move on to the next exciting chapters of their lives.’’
Those successful in joining the cadet scheme:
There are currently six cadet units running in Northamptonshire who meet once a week:
