Pupils from schools across the county presented different ideas of how to tackle arson as part of the annual County Schools Challenge.
Schools attended Northamptonshire Police headquarters at Wootton Hall on Wednesday, June 21, to take part in the ‘Dragon’s Den’ style event.
The annual competition invites young people to come up with ways to combat different social issues in the county.
The winning team will receive £2,000 to put their idea into production and help it become a reality.
The panel of ‘dragons’ included Chief Superintendent Adam Ward, Lisa Bryan, strategic lead for prevention, safeguarding and partnerships for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and Sarah Whittle, service manager for children and family support services at Northamptonshire Children’s Trust.
The eight schools selected to take part in July’s final at the Castle Theatre in Wellingborough are:
* Kettering Buccleuch Academy
* Manor School Sports College
* Huxlow Science College
* The Duston School
* Corby Technical School
* Lodge Park Academy
* Isebrook SEN College
* Northampton School for Boys
