Two men have been arrested following an epic 1.5-mile track by Northamptonshire Police dog Bryn.
At around 8.15pm last night, Thursday, November 18, the Force received an alert via its automatic numberplate recognition (ANPR) system of a vehicle on cloned plates in the east of the county.
Officers searching the area then came across a vehicle which failed to stop, before it was involved in a crash and the occupants ran off.
PD Bryn and handler PC Lucy Sculthorpe were deployed, with PD Bryn conducting a 1.5-mile track over open countryside before two men were located hiding beneath bushes near Stanwick.
The pair, one aged 29 from Bagworth, Leicestershire, and the other aged 21 from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, were both arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and the suspected theft of catalytic converters.
Following questioning, both have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
