Following the success of their previous charity calendar, the four-legged stars of Northamptonshire Police’s Dog Section are back in print!
Our model canine colleagues have been captured striking the paw-fect pose for their new 2022 calendar – all in aid of a good cause, of course.
Each month features one of our fabulous PDs in action, recognising the policing service, alongside their handlers, they provide all year round to fight crime and protect our communities.
Special thanks to our photographers, PC Ruby Redford and PCSO Kevin Rowlatt, who gave up their free time to help snap some of our canine heroes.
PDs Gru, Blue, Olly, Boycie, Rosie, Bryn, Walt, Ebby, Rocky, Mac and Socks get involved in everything policing can throw at them, using their unique scent and tracking skills to fight crime and protect people.
This calendar gives their many fans a chance to celebrate the work all our dogs do, and there is also a special tribute to the late PD Nala who sadly, died on September 27 after retiring from the Force in May.
The calendar costs £10 (plus postage and packaging). The money raised from the sale of the calendars will help the Thin Blue Paw Foundation to continue to provide vital financial support for both veterinary and rehabilitation treatment for serving and retired police dogs across the UK.
The charity has supported a number of the Force’s PDs in recent years, including the late Nala who was awarded the Thin Blue Paw Lifetime Achievement award in September for her work within policing.
Northamptonshire Police Chief Constable Nick Adderley said: “I am excited we have this opportunity to shine a light on our fantastic police dogs and their handlers who provide an invaluable commitment to fighting crime and protecting people across the county.
“This year several new faces - both two and four-legged - have joined the dog section. However, we have also seen the sad passing of one of our longest serving and most senior police dogs, PD1 Nala, wo dedicated nearly eight years of her life to serving the people of Northamptonshire.
“Her loss has been felt by everyone within the section, and it is only right to see Nala and her handler, PC Sean Foster, featuring on the front cover of this calendar, alongside trainee PD Duke.
“I am extremely proud of each one of our dogs and their handlers who use their unique skills and crime-fighting capabilities to keep our county safe. I hope the public enjoy meeting a few of our furrier colleagues within this calendar.”
This year, only a limited number of copies have been made available, so if you’re interested in getting your paws on one – you’ll need to be quick!
