With good weather forecast for the forthcoming bank holiday weekend, Northamptonshire Police is reminding people to enjoy themselves responsibly and to continue to follow coronavirus rules.
Since indoor hospitality reopened on May 17, the Force has seen little in the way of bad behaviour or the breaking of Covid-19 rules in relation to licensed premises.
To ensure this remains the case, officers will be out patrolling in key locations across the county this weekend, with the officer in charge of policing of the night-time economy reminding people to take care while out and about.
Superintendent Adam Ward said: “It’s been great to see people back out enjoying licensed premises as Covid-19 restrictions have begun to lift, and we’re grateful to everyone who has been sensible and responsible as they socialise in this way.
“With good weather forecast for the long weekend, we’re just reminding everyone to continue to follow the rules on group sizes, to wear masks where required and to keep up with social distancing. If you’re going out for a drink or two, please remember to do so responsibly – stick with friends, plan how you are getting home, and know your limits, so a good time doesn’t go bad for you.
“To anyone who might seek to use the night-time economy to commit crime or harm others, our officers will be ready and waiting to stop you.”
