A Northampton pensioner has been jailed for more than 10 years after he was found guilty of multiple child abuse offences which took place over four decades ago.
During a two-week trial at Northampton Crown Court, Raymond Quinn, aged 80, of Trent Close, Kings Heath, had denied all allegations of child sexual abuse, but was found guilty by a jury who heard evidence from his now adult victim.
Quinn was sentenced to a total of 10 years and six months for the offences which took place in the 1970s
DC Hayley Reed, who led the Northamptonshire Police investigation, said: “Although these crimes happened many years ago, the impact stayed with the victim for all of this time, until she had the strength to report it to the police.
“This took immense courage. I am happy the victim now has justice for what she suffered and is now able to draw a line under it and move on with her life.”
