A 40-year-old man who admitted repeatedly breaching his Community Protection Notice has been issued with a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order.
On July 20, Jason Sadler, of Grimmer Walk, Irthlingborough, was fined £635 at Northampton Crown Court and ordered to pay a £224 victim surcharge and £85 court costs after admitting to eight breaches between April 8 and May 26, this year.
Sadler was also issued with a two-year restraining order. However, following this conviction, East Northants Neighbourhood Policing Team applied for a Criminal Behaviour Order to help prevent him from continuing to harass those affected by his anti-social behaviour.
On Friday, October 2, the neighbourhood team returned to Northampton Magistrates’ Court, where they successfully obtained a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order against Sadler.
This Criminal Behaviour Order states Sadlers must not:
• Act in a manner that you know or ought to know is likely to cause annoyance, alarm, or distress to any person in Northamptonshire, including social media
• Use abusive, insulting, threatening or intimidation language or behaviour to anyone in Northamptonshire
• Have any contact with or communicate by any means with named residents or anyone visiting the property at any time, and do not position any vehicles to obstruct the driveway or make access difficult
• Use a Bluetooth speaker or any device capable of playing music within your rear garden without headphones/earphones
• Play music or any other audio from within your property boundary, including your house, which can be heard beyond the curtilage of your property boundary.
If Sadler fails to comply with the Criminal Behaviour Order, he risks not only arrest but facing further prosecution.
PC Matt Bristow of the East Northants Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “I am pleased that the court has recognised the severity and persistence of Jason Sadler’s behaviour and taken the necessary steps to safeguard the community living around him.
“Everyone has the right to a peaceful home life and to enjoy where they live. I hope this offers the community reassurance, and their quality of life will improve because of this order being in place.”
