A 22-year-old man has been sent to prison after he was convicted of breaching his Sexual Risk Order (SRO) for the third time.
Conor McIntyre, previously of Rushden, was issued with an SRO in November 2024.
However, in September this year, McIntyre breached the order by deleting TikTok messages between himself and two females, something his SRO prohibits him from doing.
This is his third conviction for breaching his SRO since it was granted in 2024 with the first and second breaches resulting in convictions in June and November last year.
As a result of the latest breach, McIntyre was charged with two counts of breaching his SRO, pleading guilty to the offences at Northampton Magistrates’ Court last week (October 9) and sentenced to a year in prison.
Lead investigator - Risk Management Officer, Lucy Fraser-Allen, said: “Sexual Risk Orders are put in place to protect the public and place strict restrictions on individuals whose behaviour gives cause for concern. McIntyre was fully aware of the conditions imposed on him, yet he has repeatedly chosen to ignore them.
“This latest custodial sentence demonstrates that breaches of these orders will be taken seriously and that we will take action against anyone who fails to comply with the restrictions placed upon them. We remain committed to using all available powers to safeguard vulnerable people and prevent further offending.”
