A 42-year-old man has been jailed for one year and eight months after he pleaded guilty to three counts of breaching his restraining order.
Maciej Henryk Leszczynski, previously of Corby, was handed a restraining order on January 22, this year, which prevented him from contacting a woman known to him. The order also stated that he was prohibited from going to any address he knew her to be at.
However, on February 3 and again on February 6, Leszczynski turned up at her home address, called her intercom and posted letters addressed to her.
When police arrived on February 6 after a call for help, they located Leszczynski inside the flat’s communal space and arrested him.
He was subsequently charged with three counts of breaching his restraining order.
After pleading guilty to the offences at Northampton Crown Court in February, Leszczynski returned to the same court last month (March 28) where he was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison.
Lead investigator - PC Max Grigorjevs said: “Maciej Leszczynski breached his restraining order multiple times just over a week after it was issued.
“This shows both a blatant disregard for the law and a complete lack of awareness regarding how serious these orders are and why they are put in place.
“Tackling violence against women and girls is something Northamptonshire Police continues to focus on, and I want to reassure people that we will continue working hard to put more people like Maciej Leszczynski behind bars.”
