A 23-year-old man pleaded guilty to six driving offences when he appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, October 21).
Joshua Coulton, of Military Court, Northampton, admitted seriously injuring two pedestrians after a black SEAT Leon car he was driving collided with the man and the woman at the entrance to St Johns car park in Swan Street.
The collision occurred in Northampton town centre just after 3.30pm on Friday, October 18. The man and woman, both aged in their 20s, were taken by air ambulance to University Hospital Coventry, where they remain.
Coulton was subsequently charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road collision, driving whilst disqualified, driving on a road/public place without third party insurance and aggravated vehicle taking.
Magistrates transferred his case to Northampton Crown Court for sentencing, and remanded Coulton in custody until his next hearing on December 2.
