A 48-year-old man has been jailed for four years after he pleaded guilty to two Northampton burglaries.
On the morning of August 29 this year, Leon Glasgow, previously of Northampton, entered a property in Elysium Terrace, Northampton, and once inside, stole a laptop and a set of keys.
Then, in the early afternoon of September 3, Glasgow entered a hair salon in Harborough Road and went behind the counter to steal a money box containing about £280.
Both incidents were reported to Northamptonshire Police and the Force’s Burglary Team made enquiries which led to Glasgow.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and one count of breaching a suspended sentence.
After pleading guilty to the offences at Northampton Crown Court in October, Glasgow returned to the same court last Wednesday (November 13), where he was sentenced to four years in prison.
Lead investigator - PC Chris Perkins said: “Leon Glasgow still hasn’t learnt his lesson so I am pleased to see him jailed for a decent amount of time and I really hope he begins to realise that crime doesn’t pay in Northamptonshire.
“Businesses and individuals work hard and to have their possessions stolen by a burglar is a really difficult experience to go through. That’s why we will continue working hard as a burglary team to put more people like Leon Glasgow behind bars.”
