Tommy Boom murder investigation: Provisional trial date set

A provisional trial date has been set for early January next year in connection with the murder of 30-year-old Tommy Boom in Northampton.

The murder trial has been listed to start on January 6, and is due to take place at Northampton Crown Court. It is expected to last between two to three weeks.

This follows yesterday’s (Monday, August 19) pre-trial and plea hearing at the county’s crown court for one of the defendants - Kieran Okocha-Sleight.

The 21-year-old, of no fixed address, entered a plea of not guilty to the murder of Tommy, of Northampton, who sadly died in the town’s Miller’s Meadow – also known as Semilong Park – shortly after midnight on Thursday, July 18.

Okocha-Sleight’s co-defendant Daniel Larman did not appear at crown court and is expected to enter his plea in November. The 21-year-old of no fixed address is also charged with Tommy’s murder and one count of possession of a bladed weapon.

Both men will remain in custody until their next hearing at Northampton Crown Court later this year.
