A 22-year-old man has been found guilty of failing to disclose the pin number to his mobile phone to police officers.
Lyall Warren, aged 22, of Clinton Road, Far Cotton, Northampton, was arrested in October 2020 as part of an investigation and on July 26, 2021, he was charged with four counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15.
At the end of a trial which took place at Northampton Crown Court and concluded this month, Warren was found not guilty of all four charges.
He was also charged with one count of being required to disclose a key, namely the Pin number, to an Apple iPhone 11 Pro, to protected information, by a notice issued under Section 49 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, and he knowingly failed, in accordance with the notice, to make the disclosure required.
He pleaded guilty to this offence at an earlier court hearing and was fined costs totalling £345.
