Man, 47, charged with domestic abuse offences

A 47-year-old man has been charged with a number of domestic abuse related offences following incidents in Northampton.
Gheorgita Chirita, of Northampton, has been charged with engaging in controlling/coercive behaviour, sexual assault and intentional suffocation.
The charges relate to incidents which culminated on August 12 when a woman was attacked inside her home.
Chirita appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on August 21 and was remanded into custody ahead of his next appearance at Northampton Crown Court on October 2.
