Man charged after assault in Wellingborough town centre

A 34-year-old man has been remanded in custody at Northampton Magistrates’ Court in connection with the assault of a couple in Midland Road, Wellingborough.

Alan Richard Succo, of no fixed address, appeared before magistrates on Monday, April 18, charged with four offences – two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public, a Section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of common assault.

Succo was remanded in custody until Tuesday, May 17, when he is due to appear at Northampton Crown Court

Detectives investigating the alleged incident, which took place between 5.35pm and 5.45pm on Saturday, April 16, would still like to speak to any witnesses who have yet to come forward
