Man, 26, charged with domestic abuse offences

A 26-year-old man has been charged with domestic abuse offences after an incident in Northampton.
Kyle Owen Smith, 26, of South Holme Court, Northampton, has been charged in connection with an offence in the early hours of Monday, August 17, when a man breached his restraining order to kick down the front door of a property in the Billing area.
A large group of officers were deployed to the scene and the man was arrested after jumping through gardens in an attempt to escape.
Smith has been charged with criminal damage and harassment in connection with the incident. He was remanded into custody and will appear at Northampton Magistrates' Court today (Augusst 17).
PC Glyn Humphries, said: “This arrest was made as a result of some great team work, utilising resources from the local response team, central operations team and dog mobiles.
“Northamptonshire Police take domestic incidents very seriously and so I’m pleased that we have managed to secure a charge and remand in this case.”
