Witness appeal following assault in Northampton

Police officers are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Northampton.

Between 11pm on Monday, September 14, and 12.30am on Tuesday, September 15, a man was walking home through Victoria Park, off St James Park Road, when he was approached by an unknown man who grabbed hold of him. A struggle ensued before the victim was thrown to the ground, suffering scratches to his chest and neck.

The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5ft 4in, with a slim build. He was wearing a black tracksuit and a black face covering.

Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or who may have CCTV, doorbell, dash-cam or other footage which could assist with their enquiries.
