Police officers are appealing for witnesses and members of the public who offered assistance following an assault on a 17-year-old girl in Abington Square, Northampton.
The incident took place between 4.15pm and 4.45pm on Monday, April 20, when the girl was assaulted at a bus stop outside the Close Encounters shop.
Members of the public intervened, separating the suspects from the victim and helping to bring the incident to an end. One member of the public also assisted by contacting one of the victim’s parents.
Officers would particularly like to hear from the people who stepped in to help, so they can be spoken to about what they witnessed. Police are also keen to hear from anyone who saw the assault take place or anyone who has any relevant information.
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
