A man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding following a serious assault in Silver Street, Kettering.
The arrest follows an incident which occurred shortly before midnight last night (Tuesday, November 7), when a 38-year-old man sustained a single stab wound to his abdomen. He required hospital treatment, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 33-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested shortly afterwards and remains in police custody today (Wednesday, November 8).
A police cordon remains in place to allow for the investigation and an increased police presence will also remain in the area, including high-visibility patrols to offer reassurance and support to members of the public. Anyone who has any concerns is encouraged to speak to an officer.
Detectives investigating this incident would like to hear from anyone who may be able to assist with their enquiries.
