Witness appeal following sexual assault in Daventry

Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Black Path, Daventry.

The incident happened on Wednesday, January 6, between 7.30pm and 8.30pm, when a woman in her 20s walking in the area was attacked by a man and sexually assaulted.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 40-years-old, tall, with dark eyes and of a stocky build. He was wearing a blue beanie hat with a single white stripe going horizontally across it, blue denim jeans and a brown/khaki-coloured jacket with a rimmed collar.

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the offence and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
