Police officers are appealing to trace a member of the public who helped keep a distressed woman calm before they arrived.
At 11.30am yesterday, Tuesday, April 20, police were called to the carpark at Morrisons, in Lower Street, Kettering, after a woman rang Northamptonshire Police in distress.
When officers arrived they found a woman was talking to the distressed caller, and had been helping to keep her safe while they waited for help to arrive.
Officers soon helped to bring the caller to safety, and now they want to find and formally thank the woman who stepped up to help.
Attending officer PC Matt Godfrey said: “The woman who came to this caller’s aid did an absolutely fantastic job and we’d like to find her and formally thank her for her selfless actions.
“Understandably she was a bit shaken up, and unfortunately we didn’t get chance at the scene to thank her properly.
“It would be great if she could get in touch so we can do this, she was brilliant and had been keeping the woman talking which really helped us out when we arrived.”
If you are the woman who stepped in to help, please call Northamptonshire Police on 101 regarding incident 155 of April 20.
