Data Breaches:
After conducting reasonable searches, I can confirm that Northamptonshire Police holds the information requested. However, we cannot provide you with this data because it is not held in an easily retrievable format.
Northamptonshire Police changed the system used to measure the volume and content of security incident reports 02/04/2020. Please note, that this system can relate to reports of all manner of incident whether that be physical, cyber security or incidents of misplaced assets.
Since 02/04/2020, we have received over 2,000 reports which would need to be manually reviewed to assess if they fall into the category of ‘data breach’. At a minimum 2 minutes per record, this would significantly exceed the appropriate cost limit of £450, engaging an exemption under s12(1) Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act).
Accordingly, please accept this as a Refusal Notice as per s17(1) of the Act. Under our s16 Duty, I advise that we may be able to provide you with data which covers the last 12m (subject to further exemptions). If you feel this would be beneficial, please submit a new request.
