I would like to know the following please under the Freedom of Information Act. How many arrests were made by your police force for the offence of hare coursing (the offence of trespassing with intent to pursue hares) over the last five years?
If you could send the data for each year please. So:
• Jan 2020 - Dec 2020
• Jan 2021 - Dec 2021
• Jan 2022 - Dec 2022
• Jan 2023 - Dec 2023
• Jan 2024 - Dec 2024
A search was completed in Custody for all arrests made from January 2020 to December 2024 with a CCJS code PS22002 'Trespass with intent to search for or to pursue hares with dogs' for any arrests made from January 2020 to December 2024’. This produced a nil return.
Every effort is made to ensure that the figures presented are accurate and complete. The information provided therefore is our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when the data is used.
If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would ask you to take into consideration the factors highlighted in this document so as to not mislead members of the public or official bodies or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
