This site is a beta, which means it's a work in progress and we'll be adding more to it over the next few weeks. Your feedback helps us make things better, so please let us know what you think.
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am requesting the following information for the last 24-month period for which data is available:
1. The total number of reported road traffic collisions on the A45 within Northamptonshire.
2. The total number of reported road traffic collisions on the A43 within Northamptonshire.
3. For both roads separately, please provide a breakdown of these collisions by severity (e.g., fatal, serious injury, slight injury).
4. A list of the top 5 specific junctions or road stretches on the A45 and A43 (combined) that have the highest number of recorded collisions.
You don't need to report a collision to the police if you've exchanged details, nobody was injured and there are no allegations of driving offences.
You must report the collision to the police if you were unable to exchange details at the scene, if anyone was injured, or if you suspect that the other person may have committed a driving offence.
All incidents have been included filtered by Ward Desc to bring back records which have occurred on A45 or A43 RTC Damage, Injury or Death.

The numerical data presented in this response is an un-audited snapshot of un-published data sourced from "live" systems and is subject to the interpretation of the original request by the individual extracting the data.
Every effort is made to ensure that the figures presented are accurate and complete. However, it is important to note that the data has been extracted from a number of data sources used by forces for police purposes. The detail collected to respond specifically to your request is subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large scale recording system. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting the data.
The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when the data is used.
If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data, we would ask you to take into consideration the factors highlighted in this document so as to not mislead members of the public or official bodies or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
