I would like to know how many fixed and average speed cameras are active in Northamptonshire.
How many are active and how many are inactive, how many fixed penalty notices have been issued as a result of speeding vehicles passing through them?
For example is the fixed camera in Yardley Hastings active and is the average speed camera zone on the A428 between Yardley Hastings and Brafield on the Green active?
Our understanding is that none of the cameras in the county are active any more and if that is the case, why are they not used for enforcement purposes?
Northamptonshire Police do not operate or own any traditional fixed or average speed camera systems. There are a number of retired camera housings across the County which are the property of the relevant Local Authority. You will need to contact the Local Authorities as to why they are not used for enforcement.
Northamptonshire Police operate eight enforcement cameras on the M1 for the SMART motorway.
