According to the highways agency website, they state they have no access to the data captured, and it goes to the regional police.
I would like to know what reason the camera was triggered, and requesting what information was captured and stored. This happened from a HADACS device M1 Northbound between 15A and 16 around 02:30 vehicle registration XXXX XXX
Searches were conducted within Northamptonshire Police to locate the information and I can now confirm the following:
The camera was triggered following detection of a vehicle travelling at excess speed above the posted variable mandatory speed limit. The speed limit was reduced to 40mph at 02:22:22 and is displayed by the large overhead gantry which provides vehicles in all lanes an illuminated maximum speed limit sign. We are not provided with a reason for the restriction as it has no bearing on the legality of the posted speed restriction or enforcement of said restriction.
