Once you have collected your biometric residence permit (BRP) and checked that you definitely need to register with the police, please use our contact form to request to register.
What happens next
One of our dedicated team will book an appointment for you and send all the relevant information and forms needed.
Please do not send repeated requests as this will slow down the system for all applicants. You will receive an automatic reply confirming that we have your details and we will reply to you in due course.
Please note: We can only register people who live in Northamptonshire. If you reside outside of Northamptonshire you will need to register with the force where you live.
If you are making an appointment for the first time (i.e. you do not have a Police Registration Certificate already) or you have lost your certificate, then you need to pay a £34 fee. The £34 fee must be paid via the portal before an appointment will be made for you.
Cash is no longer accepted.
There is no charge for an appointment to inform us about changes of details i.e. address, workplace, new BRP card etc.
Updating an existing Police Registration Certificate
If you have registered with the police before and still have your Police Registration Certificate, you must update your certificate within 7 days for any of the following changes:
change of address
travel outside the UK for more than 8 weeks (with intention to return)
To request an appointment or for advice regarding Police Registrations in Northamptonshire use our contact form.
Your registration is only complete once you have attended your appointment.
We won't see you without an appointment.
Where to go for your appointment
Once you've completed all the steps above and made your appointment, you'll need to get to:
The Guildhall, St Giles Square, Northampton NN1 1DE
