European Firearms Passes and Clay Pigeon Shoot 11/6 Exemptions
If you intend to take firearms or shotguns to another EU Country you require a European Firearms Pass (EFP). Both your firearms and shotguns are listed on the same EFP. All of your guns will be listed unless you instruct otherwise. Your European Firearms Pass will be valid until the date of whichever of your certificates expire first.
If you require a European Firearms Pass write to the Firearms Licensing Unit, please allow a minimum of 4 weeks for the application to be processed. There is no fee for this service.
Purchasing a Firearm in another EC Country
If you intend to purchase a Firearm in another European Country you will require an Article 7 Authority. You should write to the Firearms Licensing Unit, please allow a minimum of 4 weeks for the application to be processed. There is no fee for this service.

Processing your application
Once your application has been received at the Firearms Licensing Department a number of checks will be made before it is forwarded to your local Firearms Enquiry Officer. The enquiry officer will contact you direct to arrange a visit and discuss your application and the security arrangements for your guns. It would quicken the process if you have provided a daytime telephone number where you can be contacted to make the appointment. All Firearms Enquiry Officers carry identification cards.
Please allow 10 weeks for Clay Pigeon Shoot 11/6 applications to be processed.
