Officers raise thousands for police charity

Three Northamptonshire police officers who joined colleagues from across the UK to take part in a charity cycle ride have raised almost £3,000.
PCs Rob Stevens and Steve Haycroft, along with Sergeant Simon Randall, took part in the Police Unity Tour from London to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire in July.
The trio took part in the 180 mile event to help raise money for Care of Police Survivors, a UK charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers who have lost their lives on duty.
The tour took three days and saw more than one hundred police cyclists stop-off for refreshments at Towcester Police Station on day two.
Between them Rob, Steve and Simon raised £2,700. So far the event has raised more than £50,000 for charity.
PC Stevens said: “The Unity Tour brings officers from across the UK together to raise money in memory of those colleagues who have lost their lives while on duty.
“It is a gruelling three day ride to Staffordshire but incredibly satisfying to know that we have raised money for such a worthwhile cause.”
