The borough of Wellingborough has a population of around 75,000 with a diverse and multi cultural identity. As the Sector Commander for the Wellingborough policing sector, I lead six Safer Community Teams dedicated to delivering community a policing service that is local, visible and accessible to local people. The sector is aligned with the area covered by the local authority and incorporates the town and surrounding villages.
Each SCT is made up of Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers and Special Constables, as well as colleagues from Wellingborough Borough Council and Northamptonshire County Council, who are dedicated to delivering a first class service to local people.
Our SCTs are now are now well established across the area and we intend to build on the positive work that has already been achieved. By consulting local people, we are able to set priorities based on what you tell us are the problems affecting the quality of life in your area, and of course respond to other policing issues as they arise. It is my intention to ensure we have a community policing service that is second to none, putting community concerns at the heart of local policing.
In this section, you’ll find the latest news about your area, including crime information, your locally identified priorities and details of forthcoming surgeries and meetings. Click on the link to your local team, or use the postcode search facility if you’re not sure which team covers your neighbourhood, and should you wish to, please use the links provided to get in touch.
