The East Northamptonshire policing sector is a diverse area ranging from the southern urban areas of Rushden, Higham Ferrers and Irthlingborough, the market towns of Raunds, Thrapston and Oundle and over 50 surrounding towns and villages all the way to Easton on the Hill in the North. It is a predominately rural area, spread over an area of approximately 200 square miles with a population of around 85,000, and is aligned with area covered by East Northamptonshire Council.
As the Sector Commander for this area, I lead three Safer Community Teams (SCTs) who are dedicated to delivering visible and accessible policing to our local communities. The teams consist of Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers and Special Constables, who work closely with our partners from other agencies, in particular East Northamptonshire Council and Northamptonshire County Council, to identify and resolve local issues and concerns.
Our SCTs are now are now well established across the area and we intend to build on the positive work that has already been achieved. By continuing to work closely with our partner agencies and the community, we will give local people the opportunity to get involved and help us prioritise the issues we focus on, tackling the things that matter to most to you.
In this section, you’ll find the latest news about your area, including crime information, your locally identified priorities and details of forthcoming surgeries and meetings. Click on the link to your local team, or use the postcode search facility if you’re not sure which team covers your neighbourhood, and should you wish to, please use the links provided to get in touch.
