The Daventry policing sector covers an area of approx 250sq miles and is aligned with area covered by Daventry District Council. It is largely rural, with a population of around 73,000.
As the Sector Commander for Daventry, I lead four dedicated Safer Community Teams (SCTs) who are responsible for community policing in the area. The teams consist of Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers, who work very closely with our partners from other agencies, in particular Daventry Borough Council and Northamptonshire County Council, to identify and resolve local issues and concerns. We are also supported by Special Constables who work with us on a voluntary basis to help with high visibility patrols and other policing issues on the area.
The SCTs provide their communities with a policing presence that is local, accessible, visible and well known. By consulting local people, we are able to set priorities based on what you tell us are the problems in your area, and of course continue to respond to the policing issues that arise on a day-to-day basis. By working together, we can continue to make your neighbourhood a safer place in which to live, work and visit.
In this section, you’ll find the latest news about your area, including crime information, your locally identified priorities and details of forthcoming surgeries and meetings.
