Vetting of Suppliers and Contractors
All contractors, staff and any subcontracted staff working on behalf of the “Authority”, on Police premises, with our staff or with access to our systems and data, are required to complete a Security Vetting Form.
The contractor shall ensure that all those persons who are, or may be at any time, involved with the delivery of the services, or any part of them, complete a Security Vetting Form and provide such other particulars and evidence of identity and other supporting evidence as Northamptonshire Police may reasonably require. For instance: originals of passport/driving licence/birth certificate etc and a utility bill. The decision of the “Authority” as to whether any person is to be admitted to, or is to be removed from the Premises or, is not to become involved in or, is to be removed from involvement in the performance of the contract and as to whether the contractor has furnished the information or taken the steps required of him by this condition, shall be final and conclusive.

Fee Charges for Vetting
With effect from 1 April 2011, Northamptonshire Police will levy cost recovery charges for vetting procedures. These are processes that the Information Unit is required to carry out in respect of contractors (together with their employees and sub-contractors) who need to access our premises and/or assets. Such charges will apply to any vetting applications received after this date.
The charges will apply to both new and existing contractors. New contractors will need to have clearance for their personnel prior to the contract start date.
The appropriate level of vetting will be determined by the Information Unit Manager and will be based upon the degree of sensitivity of the buildings/material/assets to which access is required.
Although we will endeavour to complete the vetting process as soon as possible, please allow 20 working days to take account of public holidays and/or unforeseen delays. This period is taken from the time the vetting forms and payment are received within the Information Unit to the individual vetting decision being passed to the applicant's sponsor.

The vetting forms can be found at the following link on the main police web site by clicking here.
