Highlighting the importance of key procurement activities from specifications to contract management. Northamptonshire Police Procurement Department are hosting a programme of 11 procurement workshops over 2009 - 2010 and would like to extend an invite to other Police Forces and Local Authorities or Local Business, who would like to join one or more of the workshops. The procurement workshops will highlight skills and knowledge required in order to deliver the right product, right quality, at the right time. This might be rather dated procurement speak compared with more recent buzz words, Value for Money (VFM) and whole life costing but all aspects are very relevant to achieve our ultimate objectives.
“ to deliver the right results right first time” . Procurement do not work in isolation but as part of a team therefore workshops are not just for procurement professionals but open to anyone who works on major tenders or contract management. How often has time been wasted because the specification was not right or the products / services received did not meet the expectations of our customer? The procurement workshops are a good opportunity to help remove departmental barriers and develop a holistic team approach to delivering the savings hard and soft (efficiency) expected.
