Operation Challenge
Back Back   Print Print page

Operation Challenge is a county-wide operation dedicated to keeping our communities safe from violence - reducing the threat, risk and harm of violent crime is a priority for Northamptonshire Police.

Chief Inspector Andy Cox says: “The festive season is a great time to go out and enjoy yourself, on a work Christmas outing or with friends. We want to make sure that you can do just that without being affected by violent behaviour.”

All violent crime (including no injury, injury and serious injury), robbery and serious sexual assault can affect many people in many different ways.

If you have been affected by or have witnessed any of these crimes please contact us, by talking to your local Safer Community Team, calling 101 or online. In addition to taking the necessary action when a crime has occurred, we will listen to you and help you find any additional help or support you need.

As well as taking action when violence occurs, we work hard with our partner agencies to prevent it from happening in the first place. There are many ways you can keep yourself, friends and family safe by following the advice on the links on this page and here.

We are also raising awareness of the life-changing consequences of becoming involved in violent crime to make people realise what can happen to them if they break the law.

Keep up-to-date with Operation Challenge and join in discussions and Facebook and Twitter.

Having a night out?

Northamptonshire Police have a strategy in place to help keep our town centres safe at night and a highly visible policing response is in place to both prevent and reduce violence and re-establish acceptable standards of behaviour.

It is important to remember that excessive consumption of alcohol can increase the chances of becoming a victim or offender of violent crime.
