Ashby St Ledgers - fatal road traffic collision

A fatal road traffic collision took place late on Saturday evening on the A361 north of Ashby St Ledgers.

The collision took place on 4.50pm on Saturday 16 June, on the road towards Kilsby, when for reasons yet unknown, a green Ford Focus was in collision with a black Range Rover.

As a result of the collision, a 19-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Focus died at the scene. The 24 year-old man who was driving the Focus was airlifted to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry where he remains in a critical condition.

The 64-year-old man driving the Range Rover was taken to Northampton General Hospital but was later released.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision.
