The Investigations Directorate consists of a number of teams which carry out the investigation of some of the most serious crimes committed in this county. This is achieved by staff investigating serious crime after it has taken place, or by officers responding to intelligence in order to disrupt and dismantle organised criminal networks.

The Directorate also investigates the most serious elements of economic crime affecting both individuals and commerce across the county. In addition, we have a specialist team who investigate the most serious road traffic collisions which occur in Northamptonshire.

The Directorate is the home to the Force's Senior Investigating Officers led by a Detective Superintendent, who provide investigative lead for serious crime and crimes of greatest concern. The Directorate contains a number of highly specialist staff who seek excellence and continuous improvement in the way we investigate major and organised crime in Northamptonshire.

Our role is to contribute to making Northamptonshire a safer place to live, work and visit.
